Hey girl…..looks …
Hey girl…..looks great but have you ever tried a stickblender? You can pick them up at Walmart for like $12 or so….I have one dedicated to soap only and one to Lotion only! IT’s so much easier and quicker…..I still don’t do it for too long though because I like to pour at pretty light trace especially if I am using a FO that I haven’t used before and I don’t know if it’s gonna be a super heater! HTH!

Yeah glass can be …
Yeah glass can be tricky, but I use canning jars…and they are heat safe. I haven’t used plastic because I was afraid of the melting…so perhaps I will try that!

One thing I’d like …
One thing I’d like to point out is that glass is not the best container to mix lye water in. Because of the high temperature, there is always a chance the glass will shatter. Metal (except for stainless steel) is not optimal as it will probably cause the lye to react and ruin the batch. Interestingly, plastic is sturdy enough to handle the heat. I use a regular plastic pitcher for mixing with no problems. Never had a melting problem or anything.
Good luck and thanks for the video!

Hi, I’ve made cold process soap for years. I have two questions. My soaps don’t have the same great scents as they used to have, especially Patchouli. Does anyone know if the fragrance companies have changed their formulas, or has anyone else had this problem?
Second question, I have searched and searched for a good company that sells the Kraft colored cardboard boxes used to display or ship your soaps in. I have found one that has an opening in the top, but I’m looking for a rectangle box around 1 1/2in. thick by 3 1/2 in. long or approximately. Thanks for your help. Judy in KY
